Cord Blood Banks
A source of a patient's stem cells can be his or her own cord blood which has been banked at birth.

When a baby is born, blood is drawn from the umbilical cord, placed in a special bag and sent to the parents' blood bank of choice to be stored cryogenically.

Depending on the weight of the baby, the amount of cord blood drawn ranges from30 ml to 100 ml.
