Tanjong Pagar Railway Station : The Virtual Experience
November 12 - December 31
A virtual reality immersion into history and nostalgia.
The former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station was officially opened in 1932 with fancy facilities such as a restaurant, a bar, a hair salon and even a hotel. It was in operation until 30 June 2011, when the Malaysian Government returned the land – on which the station sits – to Singapore under a land exchange deal.
It has been closed for the development of an extensive underground line since 2012. This virtual reality experience re-ignites an appreciation of its beautiful interior and allows visitors to navigate the spaces virtually.
Sponsored by Dassault Systèmes and presented by the Preservation of Sites and Monuments division of the National Heritage Board.
