Singapore Night Festival 2022
August 19 - August 27
There is something for everyone; so let the street party begin !
The Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) district transforms into an eclectic and unexpected experience over two weekends this August with an exciting line-up of arts, heritage and cultural experiences.
Façades of iconic landmarks spring brilliantly to life, familiar spaces surprise with new stories and animated storytellers enchant the crowd.
Rebirth is the theme of this 13th edition as it focuses on mining a new identity for the dynamic and unique Bras Basah Bugis precinct, home to the SNF.
SNF embraces the hyperlocal as it explores the magic of the night, finding the special in the ordinary.
The festival included over 55 programmes, encompassing 14 ‘night light’ installations, 6 projection mapping artworks and performances and experiential events that bring spaces such as Fort Canning Park, Capitol and Armenian Street to life. Festival grounds have been expanded to Fort Canning Park where some installations will be located. Numerous intimate programmes offer tours and experiences the precinct in different ways, and from different perspectives.
This year’s festival showpiece is a temporary set in Cathay Green, opposite The Cathay, featuring an immersive theatre performance – Cathay Hotel : The Curse of the Missing Red Shoe – where iconic characters of famous Cathay films from Singapore’s glorious cinematic past come to life in a multiverse production.
7.30 p.m. – 12.00 a.m. @ Bras Basah.Bugis
Paid tickets required for the highlight performance; but the festival is largely free and open to the public.
