Here I am : Self Portraits
December 13 - December 17
A visual arts workshop where children create their self-portrait which will be digitised and showcased as part of an exhibition that demonstrates the complexity of children’s self-expression and cultural plurality.
A part of Imaginique, Singapore Children’s Festival 2019, this workshop encourages the exploration of self-reflection, diversity, multiplicity and community, as well as building fundamental skills in self-portraiture and watercolors. Children paint their own self portrait while asking themselves – How do I want to be seen in the world ? How is my face a reflection of who I am ? How do I feel?
Here I Am invites us to consider that the way our children perceive themselves may be very different to how we see them from the outside.
The installation grows each day, adding to the artworks of the previous day.
The workshop was created by QPAC’s Out of the Box Festival in Brisbane.
Approximately 45 minutes with no interval.
Friday, Saturday, Monday & Tuesday : 9.00 a.m., 10.15 a.m., 12.15 p.m., 2.15 p.m. & 3.30 p.m.
